Sorry for the delay on this re-cap. Though Telepalooza happened at the end of March, we wanted to give a shout out to Brooke Edwards and all fo the competitors at Telepalooza! —SheJumps

SheJumps represents at Telepalooza!  The girls were out kickin' ass and takin' names at this year's Telepalooza at Alyeska Resort. I started the festival seven years ago in honor of my dear friend Jeff Nissman who was a phenomenal mountain spirit and excellent telemark skier. The festival began as a conglomeration of telemark races, clinics, seminars, costume parties and bands. It has since grown to add in the World Telemark Freeskiing championships and this year we added snowboard and alpine divisions to the free-skiing comp to let the locals shine! As always, Nissman seems to send us powder dumps followed by bluebird to allow us to ski iconic runs here in Alaska like Alyeska's massive headwall.

The group of women competitors was small but tight as we helped each other pick out lines and get pumped up for the long showcasing runs. It was fun to see how the alpine women attacked the hill differently than us tele girls and then to see the snowboard chicks killing it in a completely different style.  All these jumpers kept the spirit of the festival alive by carrying the party forth into much dancing, costuming and tom-foolery! This year's theme was 2010: A Space Odyssey....which is why I was a shooting star one night, princess leia during the day to teach tele clinics and Neytiri the Na'vi princess from Avatar. Because while I love to let the other goddesses have the podium all to themselves, I can't help but win the party! —Brooke Edwards
